FAQ
Christian life coaching places Christ at the center of every aspect of the coaching process. The coach and client rely on the wisdom, revelation, knowledge, understanding, and council of Holy Spirit. This allows the client's goals and plans to be in alignment with who God has created them to be, and aligns the outcomes that they seek with the authority and power that Christ died for them to have.
Yes, coaching is different from therapy. Therapy address mental health concerns, psychological issues and past traumas. It is past-present focused. If you believe your needs are described here, you're encouraged should seek a licensed therapist or psychologist for the appropriate course of help.
Coaching is present-future focused. It helps the client to map out where they are in a particular area of their life, and how to get to where they want to be. Very often coaching is a complementary addition to therapy.
While therapy will address the trauma and behaviors that lead to, or were involved in the abuse or divorce, coaching will help you to form a new vision for your life. It helps you to see clearly and plot a course forward. It will provide encouragement and accountability for things such as going no contact, or time tables for life separating tasks after the divorce, such as taking the other off of the utilities. Having a coach help make a to-do and keeping you on track is often immensely helpful in the midst of a major life change.
