Love is a conduit of revelation. It’s in a place of intimacy that sweet conversation flows, and delights the soul like new wine. Here, at the table of the Lord’s supper, we find a continual flow of this new wine, fresh bread, and the anointing of oil that brings us peace. Feasting with the King of Kings, has for me, become a lifestyle of lingering in love and listening to His heart for me and the world He passionately loves.

My desire in writing this communion devotional is to invite my brothers and sisters to join me at the table I have come to love so much; the table that Jesus first set for us. A table where I have had my own identity and worth restored; my heart, mind, soul and body healed; a table that has taught me what it means to abide in Christ.

Dearest One, May the next 40 days bless you in deeply personal ways, and bring you into profoundly knowing the Lord, and who you are in Him.

Now that you are assured your heart is safe with the Lord, it’s time to enter into the rest of safety. You are in Christ Jesus. You are hidden in this blood set before you, healed in these stripes, and set free in the anointing oil of His crushing. The enemy cannot touch you here. It’s okay now to catch your breath and be still; to know that He is God and He’s got this! Allow your toil to cease. It is here in His rest that you’ll discover is the place where the breakthrough He has been leading you to has been all along. In His rest is where you can finally receive His love, trust His word, believe His promises, love who He created you to be, see the evidence of your faith and behold the desires of your heart. He loves you Dearest One. He’s been waiting for this moment with you for a very long time. Rest your mind, rest you heart, rest your soul and rest your spirit. Taste and see that He is good. It’s time to feast, rest and be refreshed.

Scripture recommendation: Matthew 11:28-30

The Lord fashions you like a jewel in His crown! Every time you meet Him in communion and His word, and as you seek Him with all of your heart, your rough edges are polished away even more. You shine brighter than you ever have before. It is here at His table seeking the light of Christ that we are fashioned to reflect his light back into the world with an ever increasing brightness and fire. Did you know that a diamond’s brilliance is measured by its ability to let light enter and reflect back out? Did you know that the intensity of the colors that spark from its cuts are called fire? Let Him cut where He needs to cut. Let Him polish where the places are still rough. As He pours His light and life and love into you, you are the very light and the fire of God reflected into this cold, dark world. Dearest One, your brilliance is not a measure of how much you know. It’s a measure of the amount of Christ’s light that you allow in you, and the intensity of its brightness and fire that shines through you.

What shall we say of the works of our hands?

As you sit and contemplate the work of Jesus on the cross, remember that He only did what He saw the Father doing, and said only what he heard the Father saying. It makes one wonder what Jesus witnessed the Father doing, saying and teaching that He then demonstrated on the cross. Jesus said, ‘He who has seen Me has seen the Father.’

Father, as we feast on the works of Jesus, who is in you and you in Him, will you please show yourself to us so that we too may be a witness, and a demonstration to the world around us. It brings the Father joy to reveal Himself through His children.

Let us say of the works of our hands, that we did what we saw the Father doing, what He taught us. Let it be said of us, that those who have seen us have also seen the Father.
